David Paterson

managing director

David holds an LLB (Hons) with European Legal Studies and post graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Aberdeen. He is a qualified Scottish solicitor, having trained at a leading corporate firm in Edinburgh.

Before moving into management David worked as a solicitor in private practice and in house. He has also held commercial and management positions within rhi’s parent company, Wood. In his current role as managing director, David has overall responsibility for ensuring rhi meets customer’s expectations as well as setting and delivering our growth strategy.

Craig Taylor

Craig has over 25 years of international experience in the commercial and contracts areas of the oil & gas, civil engineering and construction industries. He graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying from Glasgow Caledonian University and since joining rhi in 2007, has worked as a team lead on a number of major projects.

In Craig’s current role as regional director of rhi EMEA, he is responsible for the management of operations and the effective delivery of key strategic international commissions in the region as well as all project commissions in Canada.

David Lane

David has over 25 years’ experience in projects and operations internationally, providing services from market analysis through to project execution and project closeout work. He has a degree in Quantity Surveying from Robert Gordons University in Aberdeen and is a qualified Chartered Quantity Surveyor.

David joined rhi in 1986 as a graduate and was instrumental in making rhi into a global project services group servicing the oil and gas sector before its acquisition by Amec Foster Wheeler in 2008. More recently he has worked on supporting customers with broader business and commercial issues.

In his current role he provides strategic support to the Executive Leadership team and acts as a focal point for business development activity to support rhi’s redevelopment and growth agenda.

Mike Moore

Mike has 20 years’ international experience in the oil & gas, heavy engineering and construction industries, specialising in commercial, contracts and project management. He graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying from Nottingham Trent University, and gained Chartered Surveyor status soon after. Since then, Mike has increased his qualifications with a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management and an MBA from the University of Reading.

In his current role as regional director of rhi Asia Pacific, Mike is responsible for the management of operations and the effective delivery of all project commissions and assignments undertaken region wide.

Bill Sutherland

Bill is an experienced project services management consultant with over 40 years’ international experience in the oil & gas industry. He is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with a diploma in Business Administrations as well as a diploma in Building Economics.

Bill joined rhi in 2010 as a planning and cost management consultant. In his current role, Bill manages work allocation, staff resourcing and customer relations within the Aberdeen.  He also provides consultancy support, specialising in planning and cost management, to our oil and gas customers.

Stephanie Brebner

With over 15 years of international recruitment experience, Stephanie has established workforce solutions in both the United States and Australia.  Stephanie has a BSc in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University and started her career in Houston, Texas focusing on executive search.

In her current role at rhi, Stephanie serves as the general manager of Australia and mentors our global recruitment team. With her specialty in energy and resources, Stephanie provides strategic recruitment delivery for global projects.

Outside of work, Stephanie has two children and is passionate about developing an interest with young children in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). In addition, she is an active volunteer with local hospitals to support families of premature babies.

Marcus Wilson

Marcus has over 25 years of UK and international experience in the commercial and contracts areas of the oil & gas and construction industries. He graduated in 1993 with a BSc (Hons) in Construction Management and began work in the construction industry for a managing contractor in the UK before joining a quantity surveying (QS) consultancy practice based in Malaysia working on construction, infrastructure and oil and gas projects in South East Asia.  He then went on to work as a Senior Contracts Engineer for a major oil and gas Operator based in Western Australia as part of its capital projects management team.

Marcus returned to the UK in 2002 and joined rhi as a senior QS/contracts engineer, supporting customers in Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States and Africa. In his current role as operations director, Marcus is responsible for the management of operations and effective delivery of project commissions for Northern Europe and the CIS regions.

John McCulloch

John has 13 years of international experience in quantity surveying for the oil & gas industry, as well as 4 years’ experience in the construction industry. He has an HND in Quantity Surveying from Robert Gordon’s University in Aberdeen.

John has been with rhi for over 13 years, 2 of which were in South Korea working with on a major project with a customer. In his current role as the operations manager for the rhi Houston office, John is responsible for the successful delivery of quantity surveying services to the Houston customer base.

James Smith

James has 15 years’ international oil & gas experience in the project controls and contracts. He graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying from Reading University, and since joining rhi in 2011, has worked on a variety of Canadian major projects.

In his current role as operations manager of rhi Canada, he is responsible for the management of operations, winning work, and building relationships with Canadian organisations.

Steven Hall

Steven has 15 years’ commercial and contracts experience in the oil & gas industry, supporting rhi customers across the UK, Netherlands and Azerbaijan.  He graduated with a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Aberdeen before supplementing his qualifications with an MSc in Project Management, a Post Graduate Diploma in Construction Law & Arbitration and a CIPS Diploma in Procurement and Supply.

Steven returned to Aberdeen at the beginning of 2018 to provide operational support and deliver project assignments for rhi customers in the area.

Claire has 14 years’ experience within the staffing and recruiting industry. She has a Diploma in Hospitality with a focus in people and business management and has worked extensively within the sales environment and customer satisfaction.

Claire joined rhi in 2016 and is currently responsible for the South Africa business operations.

Chris Baughurst

Chris has over 25 years’ experience in developing, implementing and supporting software application for oil & gas customers globally.

Before joining rhi over 19 years ago, Chris served in the British Army. Now, Chris manages our systems team in London, developing and supporting our applications used within rhi and for our customers.  He is currently focussed on developing web enabled versions of our applications to meet the digital needs of our customers.

Maria Conrad

Maria has over 20 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry and specialises in contracts management. She has MSc in Construction Management and Construction Law from Kingston University which she later supplemented with LLM in Oil and Gas Law received in Robert Gordon University.

Maria has extensive international corporate and project experience at locations ranging from the Arctic Circle to Egyptian deserts, from the Sakhalin Island to Kazakhstan and Iraq.

Maria currently drives rhi’s commercial function globally.

Samantha Ball

Sam has 10 years’ experience in external recruitment for electronics, software, and individuals transitioning to the oil & gas market, covering multi-disciplines. She has a BSc (Hons) degree in Physiology with Psychology from Southampton University.

In previous roles, Sam was the Global Resourcing Manager in Upstream for a large energy company, implementing a global recruitment system and resourcing processes. She started her career at rhi in 2014 as our HR and Resourcing Manager for the UK and Europe, recruiting across all project controls disciplines, and in 2018, Sam became our Global P&O Business Partner.
