Scope: The position is based in Calgary with periodically required visits to the project site. You will work closely with team members and contractors and will report to the Contracts Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prequalification: work in collaboration with technical personnel to prepare and issue suitable pre-qualification documentation to determine a contractor's interest in and capacity to perform the scope of work; evaluate contractor's responses, leading to the establishment of the Bidders List
  • Tender Document Preparation: work in collaboration with others to compile ITT/RFP documentation; issue same to Tenderers, manage communication between Company and Tenderers; open bids, including distribution of bids for evaluation purposes
  • Tender Evaluation: manage the evaluation process; perform commercial and contractual evaluations; participate and/or lead negotiations with Tenderers as required; prepare Recommendation to Award
  • Contract Award: prepare Contract Documents; ensure their execution by the Parties
  • Post Award Contract Management: provide contract management in collaboration with the Technical Representative.
  • Contract Close Out: in collaboration with the Technical Representative ensure the proper and timely close-out of contracts.
  • Participate in activities designed to enhance team effectiveness and to improve procedures, templates and tools.
  • Provide mentorship to new hires and to less experienced team members. 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelors degree. 
  • Minimum 12 years experience with tendering, negotiating, awarding, and managing engineering, construction, and EPC contracts.
  • Solid experience in formulating contract and commercial procedures and templates; and drafting technically complex, high value, tender documentation 
  • Team player with effective communication and negotiation skills
